Volunteer Trip to South Africa

Hi there! My name is Nicole Del Rosario and I am a freshman at Western Washington University, hoping to get a degree in International Development and Humanitarian Assistance. This summer, I will be going to South Africa for volunteer work and global leadership. Originally, I was supposed to go to Cambodia, but the organization that I am doing this through could not send me to Cambodia and gave me an opportunity to go to South Africa instead. My trip will be in East London and will be 23 days long and during my time there, I will be teaching in schools for orphans, contribute to water sustainability by building water purifying projects, and better their agriculture by helping tend to their crops.
However, I need help getting there and have until the first of June! The total cost of my trip is about $4500. I am working two jobs while balancing a full load of classes and being involved at Western. I also work during breaks from school back at home to help raise money. So far I have paid $2500 and bought my plane ticket and some of the program balance.
Your donations will be used for the remaining of my needs which include volunteer insurance, vaccinations, and the program which includes transportation around South Africa, the host family/hotels that I will be staying at, my meals, my building/teaching supplies, the global leadership program, and other activities.
But not only that, your donations will help me gain life/leadership skills that I may not be able to get anywhere else and an experience that I'm sure to never forget. In addition, I aspire to be a Peace Corps. volunteer and a foreign aid worker for the United Nations so this first volunteer trip will be a great first step to this lifestyle. Although it is only 23 days, it'll be a 23 day experience that will change not only me forever, but also the people I will be helping in South Africa.
