Lauren's Mission Trip to Panama

God recently called me to take part in a mission trip to the Darien Jungle, in Panama, that will be taking place from December 28, 2013 to January 6, 2014, with an organization called Global Expeditions. I have made the decision to go where He is leading me and I could not be more excited to see what He has in store!
I had been praying for a while with a specific focus on radical faith. Like, "God, what do you want for me? How can I step out of my comfort zone to serve you?" And He sure showed me. For ten days I will be sleeping in a hammock, in a straw hut, in the middle of the Darien Jungle, completely removed from all industry and technology, with no indoor plumbing. It will be full-on culture immersion.
It is said that the men like to fish, the women like to do bead work, and the kids like to play barefoot soccer in dirt fields, so basically, we'll be spending time with and getting to know the people by joining in on their daily lives, doing service projects, sharing our testimonies, building relationships, and being the hands, feet, and light of Jesus.
The total cost for me to go on this mission trip is approximately $2,800. This will cover all necessary expenses. I am asking that you prayerfully consider partnering with me financially and investing into the spread of God's truth and healing in Panama.
I would also ask that above all you be praying for me, the rest of the missionary team, and the people that we will come into contact with on our trip. Please be praying in specific for willing attitudes, openness in relationships, successful adaption to the new culture, and hearts that are ready to be touched by the power and great love of Jesus Christ.
Your support is a key part of the incredible ministry that I know will happen as God is proclaimed and made known in Panama!
