Supporting Emily's recovery

As some of you may have heard, over the Christmas holidays Emily was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She is currently at Hamilton General Hospital and just underwent brain surgery. Her condition is very serious but doctors have provided a number of reasons to be optimistic about her recovery.

Emily and her family are so appreciative of all the messages of support they have received. So many have reached out to express their concern and ask how they can provide support as Emily gets the medical attention she needs.

Several unexpected expenses have been incurred (e.g. rescheduled flight to NFLD, out-of-province healthcare expenses, travel, food, and accommodation for family while in Hamilton, etc.). If you'd like to provide financial support to Emily and her family, you can do so below. (Emily’s sister, Elena, is listed as the beneficiary since she’s kindly taken on financial management while Emily recovers).

We would also like to use this platform as a place to provide updates on Emily and her recovery. And in the days to come, we will be posting a link to an external platform where people can share their well wishes for Emily.

While in very critical condition, Emily has maintained her sense of humour and approached it all with such fearlessness. There is no doubt that she draws strength from the wide-reaching and supportive community she has built around herself.
