Jesse and Joni's Temporary Situation

Donation protected

We are the Linscott's, Jesse and Joni, and we have a total of six children, three of which live with us full time. Our children's names are Devontre, Alex, Cal, Emma, Jaidyn, and Ian. They range in age from 19 years old to 1 month old. We love our children more than anything, and will always do what is necessary to keep them safe and well cared for. On November 17th Jesse was injured at work, incurring a laceration to his left hand from a chop saw. The extent of the injuries are as follows: laceration to the top of his hand, 80% laceration of the extensor tendon, laceration of nerves, and broken bones. Due to the injury Jesse currently has no use of his left hand. At this point the length of not being able to use his hand is unknown. There is an appointment with a hand surgeon in Boise coming up this month and more details will be available at that time. Because this was a work related injury a workers compensation claim was filed, however, at this point it appears that his employer has no insurance coverage and we are unsure when we will start receiving benefits. The employer has been giving us untrue information as well as still having back wages unpaid to Jesse for work preformed, and we are now dealing with the next steps to take with the labor board and speaking with attorneys. Our youngest son, Ian, was born just over a month ago and Joni is currently on fmla for the birth of him. Joni's return to work date is the end of December, pending the results of Jesse's appointment with the surgeon and whether or not he will need surgery as well as recovery time for him and availability of funds to pay for daycare services for the children. Because Jesse has no use of his left hand he is unable to meet the children's needs if left by himself with them. We are seeking funds to help pay for necessary expenses until everything is sorted out and we start having a more steady, reliable income again. Some of these expenses are rent, utilities, gas for transportation, diapers, wipes, toiletries, food, etc. We are not looking for a hand out from anyone, but it has reached the point that we are going to be evicted from our home and without income to get into another home we would be left on the streets with our children in the middle of winter. We are willing to do anything necessary to prevent that from happening! This is a very trying time for us, some days we have hope, and some days we don't. What we need more than anything is just some help in getting our bills paid so we can continue to focus on the issue at hand which is making sure that Jesse gets the financial compensation he is owed, instead of being worried about where we will go or what will happen to our precious babies if we lose their security and safety before things get sorted out with the injury. We have been contacting agencies that help low income families, but have thus far ran into dead ends, so please know that we are doing everything in our own power to handle this situation without having to ask other's to take care of our money problems for us. Every little bit helps, and we appreciate everyone for being so supportive to us during this time.
