Help support Joey Cipolla's Family

On November 24, 2017, Shelley (Joey's mom) received a terrifying phone call from her daughter (Jordyn), a mother's worst nightmare. Joey had committed suicide.

Shelley knew that her son had been struggling with a few things in his personal life, but nothing to make her think that suicide was on his mind. She had just Facetimed him earlier that day on Thanksgiving, and Joey was himself. He was sitting on his patio having a cup of coffee and laughing with her and making plans with her to do their annual Christmas shopping that they did together every year. Shelley has always had a very honest and open relationship with her children and if she would have seen the warning signs, she would have made sure to get Joey the help that he needed.

After this most horrible event, we have found out that suicide happens more often than we thought.
* Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States
* Each year, approximately 44,913 Americans die from suicide

Joey Cipolla is described by all that knew and loved him a loyal, caregiver, generous young man with a huge sense of humor!

Joey worked and paid the bills when his mother was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer just a few short years ago. He made sure she everything she needed to go through this terrible disease, with the treatment making her so sick, that she could not work.

Joey was very hard working and took pride in his accomplishments and wanted his mom to be proud of him.

The list could go on forever about what a wonderful soul Joey was. But, most importantly, Joey loved with his whole heart and he was loved beyond measure.

It is no wonder why Joey possessed all of these amazing qualities. Have you met his mom, Shelley? She is everything mentioned above and more. She loves her children more than her life. She described Joey in the eulogy as the "Love of my life". She is an amazing single mother that raised her children to have respect for others and took so many children in and under her wing while raising her own children, by herself. She would give you the shirt off her back and cook you the last meal in her refrigerator if you were hungry. All of these children have called her "Mama Shelley" for years and still do.

When all of this unexpectedly happened, Shelley contacted Joey's employer. Joey has worked for the same company for almost 5 years and we all know how responsible he is, so she assumed he had life insurance to help cover some of the costs of his final expenses. While Joey did have a life insurance policy, Shelley soon found out that there was a suicide clause in the policy and and the policy would not pay.  So all of the financial burden of Joey's final expenses have fallen on Shelley's shoulders while grieving the loss of her son.

We would like to take some of the stress off of Shelley. This woman has impacted so many lives of children and adults in her lifetime, and we feel this is the least we can do during this time for her. She has to face Joey's birthday next week and Christmas is right around the corner. She is trying so hard to be strong for her daughter, Jordyn.

Shelley appreciates all of the emotional support given by family and friends, all of the 16 hr trips made by his "Brothers" from Springfield, IL, but needs as much support as possible for the enormous financial burden.

If God has placed Shelley and Joey on your heart, would you please consider donating to help us relieve Shelley of the financial burden that has been placed on her during this horrific time in her life? I know that she would appreciate any support given.
