Help Taury get the surgery he needs

Donation protected
On October 11, after a long week of difficulty with various family issues, my wife asked me to go out to move our big 14 passenger van...the one I use to get our youth missionaries to the worksites...so that she could run to the store to get something I forgot earlier in the day.I walked outside, and our ten year old French bulldog rescue, Taury, scooted out the door behind me as he often does.

I started the van and backed up, confident that Taury had headed out back to commune with our chickens, always eager for a dropped morsel. But today I was wrong. Before I had traveled 20 feet, Taury took a wrong step and went under the front tire.

I never saw it. I felt the van run over something and backed a little further to see my little buddy lying on the driveway.

I was sick. Heartbroken. I still am.

I rushed him to the Animal Clinic Northview, now in emergency hours, which is thankfully only a few minutes away. I ran in with him in my arms, trying to explain what had happened through my tears, leaving the van running with the driver and side doors wide ope. They practically leapt over the counter, rushing the little guy back into the halls, while ushering me to a separate room. and there I sat, alone for what seemed like ages, praying to God, pleading, apologizing to a dog that wasn't in the room.

The X-Ray revealed three broken ribs and a nasty fracture on his upper leg in front. He stayed at the vet the next two nights. The first night the vet called at 1:00 am to tell me that Taury had crashed unexpectedly, and asked me if I wanted a DNR order.

Who wants to answer that question? Who wants to answer that when they are the one who caused the pain?

Taury is stabilized and on pain meds. In an effort to save some money, I agreed to take him home. The bill for the two days at the be was $1,068, which I paid.

Taury cannot walk, and he needs surgery. It is expected to cost $2,700 to repair the break. I sold my old golf cart to pay for the bill from the first two days, but I am out of money.

Animal Clinic Northview is a very capable facility with amazing doctors, but they do not do payment plans. I must pay at the time of service. He was supposed to go in Tuesday.

He is at home with me. We try and control the pain, but he is defeated. I won't give up on him, but I am a little afraid that he might.

I am selling anything that isn't tied down, and now I am asking for help. A donation, a loan, anything.

Can you help Taury?
