Fight Baby Ricki

Donation protected
My sister Cori was flown to Co Springs last Thursday night (9/7) to deliver her 24 week old baby.   After much chaos and terror the doctors were able to delay the delivery until Saturday morning.   At this time all amniotic fluid was gone and baby was showing signs of distress so there was no choice but for her to deliver.  At 9:35 a.m. Baby boy Ricki Rae was here weighing in at 1 lb. 10 oz.  There were so many mixed emotions from celebrating his arrival (Cori and Dan did not find out the gender of the baby so having a baby boy was extra emotional with a name like Ricki), to panic, terror, and all other emotions that come along with a situation not turning out the way "it's supposed to".  Ricki was immediately whisked off, intubated, and put into a womb like environment where not even mom or dad could touch him.  Ricki is stable but critical and has a VERY long road ahead with more ups and downs than most of us would experience in a lifetime.  Each and every day is critical and filled with stress, helplessness and worry.  The only focus now is for Baby Ricki to FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!  Ricki's original due date was December 29th which is now the best case scenario for him to come home from the hospital.  As you can imagine the hospital bills that they will accrue are astronomical.  Astronomical sounds so dramatic however it is in fact accurate.  In addition to those medical bills, Cori and Dan will have to find and pay for lodging, food, and transportation expenses to and from Pueblo.  These next few weeks being the most critical they are able to rent a room at the hospital as long as there is availability but that is on a daily basis.  From there, a hotel close by is ideal and at some point (hopefully not soon) they will have to return to work.  Thinking about all of these scenarios is just so overwhelming I can't even imagine!  We are on a day by day kind of schedule and the only concern these new parents should have is their sweet sweet boy.
The support we've received has been overwhelmingly amazing!  Lot's have asked "what can I do to help"  and at this point...one, two or three things...

1.  Pray Pray Pray (most important).  Pray for the miraculous work of God's hands!

2.  if you feel led...Give.  This will help relieve them from some financial stresses so that they can focus on the only thing that matters...Baby Ricki.

3.  Forward.  Forward this campaign to others that may want to help.

Thank you all in advance and I will do my best to update
