Heidi Colley’s Funeral Expenses

My name is Kelly (Melzoni) Ferris, acting on behalf of my sister, Jessie (Melzoni) Ingram and my brother-in-law, Dan Ingram, both Ft. Wayne City Police Officers.Dan’s mother, Heidi A Colley of New Haven, IN, was brutally killed by her other son, Chad Ingram Thanksgiving weekend. The New Haven Police did a well-being check at her home on Saturday, November 25th, 2017. They found her deceased on the bedroom floor, the autopsy showed blunt force trauma to the head and she had visible bruising covering her whole body. All the while, her son, Chad, sat in the living room, completely intoxicated. He initially told police she wasn’t home, but they could see her body on the bedroom floor from the living room. Chad Ingram was immediately taken into custody. Heidi was just 61 years old and earlier this year, had allowed her son, Chad, to move back with her after he had gotten kicked out of the trailer that Heidi had found for him to rent. Heidi was a kind-hearted, do anything for anyone kind of person. She was a loving Grandma to Jessie and Dan’s son and 2 daughters. Heidi actually provided child care for their daughters, until just a few years ago. Chad has been known to have a very violent past, against Heidi, as well as others, but she never gave up on a mother’s hope that she could help him. Ultimately, that hope and her kindness is what got her killed by him. Heidi was on disability and had no life insurance. They have learned in the last couple of days, that she had no savings and didn’t qualify for Medicaid benefits. We are asking for any amount you can spare to donate to help pay for a proper funeral. Every dollar, $5, $10 or any donation amount can help lay Heidi to rest. She was a very sweet lady and loving Grandma and deserves to have a better ending than the one she has been given.
