Mike's Medical Expenses

Thank you for visiting our site! Meet our amazing dad, Michael Hunt, loving pawpaw, husband, friend, and now warrior. Mike has battled stage IV kidney cancer with so much bravery and optimism for nearly three and half years. He's surprised all of us time and time again throughout his fight, but unfortunately the struggle has gotten incredibly tough, even for a fighter like our dad. After recently learning that his cancer has spread even further (kidney, lungs, bones, brain, liver, spleen, adrenals:), he and his phenomenal medical team have decided to no longer pursue treatment. We enlisted Hospice care just a few weeks ago.
Although we've wanted to host a fundraiser for our dad for some time, it never came to fruition. Perhaps we were hopeful that things would change for the better, or somehow he was immune to the inevitable, but this is not the case. And now, here we are, trying to enjoy every minute with him. Thus, time and energy to plan a formal benefit has run out.
Now more than ever, Mike could use our love, support and assistance. As you can imagine, the medical bills are insurmountable and he has been unable to work since his diagnosis in April 2010. Unfortunately, even after his passing these medical expenses will remain. Through all his smiles and laughter, he's confessed his worry for our mom, Sue, and her inability to afford these bills. We're hopeful that this fundraiser will help our dad pay some of his overwhelming medical bills and lift his spirits. Together we can offer him peace of mind and let him know that he is not alone in his journey.
