You've probably found your way to this page because you are among those who love and support Chris Wooten. As many of you know, Chris has faced some daunting obstacles in the last decade that have left him feeling discouraged and often hopeless.
Because of these obstacles, Chris has never had the opportunity to travel outside of the US - a desire that clearly burns in him. He has watched friend after friend come back changed after international experiences, but sees traveling as an entirely unattainable dream for himself.
While discussing the situation this past summer, Katie and I had the idea of extending to Chris a gift from his entire community. We believe that, for Chris, an upswell of support from a community who deeply loves him would be powerful at this time in his life, and what better way to do that than to fulfill a life-long dream of his?
This spring break, with your help, we would love to give Chris the gift of a week-long trip to Peru including some time in Cuzco and Machu Picchu. We will be accompanying Chris and obviously paying for our own way, but we need to raise around $2,000 for Chris' plane ticket and travel expenses. We're asking for your help in taking Chris on this trip as a communal extension of grace and love. Before departing, we'll be giving Chris a list of the names of those who helped out. How powerful would it be for Chris to have such a tangible expression of his community's love for him!

We believe that travel can profoundly impact a person's perception of self, God, and the world, and that some distance from the daily grind of life can provide perspective and clarity. But mostly, we think that Chris deserves a powerful demonstration of the love people have for him
