A Big Heart For Chief Kennedy!

As many of you have heard our friend and Volunteer Fire Fighter Chief Ryan Kennedy is having open heart surgery to resolve an Aortic Aneurism. The good news is that it was caught early enough to do something about it. The bad is that he will be off of work for at least 4 months probably longer. Ryan has done a lot for other people over the years and given countless hours to his community both as the chief of the fire department in Lake Dale as well as personally by organizing benefits, donating time running heavy equipment, etc. That being said it is time we give back! With Ryan’s job his disability benefits do not kick in until he is off 26 weeks. That is a long time for the breadwinner in the family to be off work with no money coming in. Instead of stressing over finances I would rather they focus on his recovery and getting well. That being said my family has committed to cut back on some of the extras we enjoy to help out each month and we urge you to join us. I know everyone can have financial challenges themselves and what you can or can’t do may vary. The thought is that through numbers it is easier. I am proud of the community we live in and how we always rally around those in need.  If 40 families commit to $50 a month their burden shrinks dramatically. Some may be able to do more some less. Whatever you feel led to do. As Ryan put in his FB post this weekend, God must have a plan for his life to keep him here. I believe that. And I am glad that we can be a part of helping them stay on their feet during this time. Thank you for your help and generosity of the Kennedy family!
