I was invited to travel on an Educational Safari to Cuba with Facilitator Baba Chuck Davis (Dance Africa) as he presents; See the Rhythm/Hear the Movement from November 29, through December 6, 2013, Santiago, Cuba
HWHAT? Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen! Me, Lil Ole Me.
If I had a thousand tongues or a thousand words, it wouldn't be enough to describe the opportunity. I can tell you that I am going to use this trip to expand my dance knowledge base, (but you know that), I will hold one or two debrief classes to share my pictures and/or videos (you know that too), I will forge ahead and add my experience to the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding dance communities to create another level of excitement when sharing ideas (but that is NO surprise).
The surprise is A DREAM ACTUALIZED. I've wanted to travel to Cuba since I learned Guaguancó, Fell in Love with Cha-Cha, and Mastered my Mambo. I've been dancing for the better part of a decade (10 years) and I've been praying, preaching, saying and researching ways to get to CUBA and the world responded.
I have an opportunity to dance in the streets of where we only dream to dance. Where you hear the Rumba in your soul, the Congo in your feet, and the BEAT in the very air you breathe. It is the birth place of Afro-Cuban Dance and to have this DREAM actualized is an opportunity I can't afford to miss.
Speaking of can't afford (to miss). I need some assistance in paying the $2500.00 in expenses such as travel, hotel, classes, and local transportation. Thus, I am using GO-FUND ME and searching for assistance.
I'm asking you, all of you, to HELP (ayuda) me. Will you be the part of the world who responds and continues the DREAM ACTUALIZED?
I've made some personal request of $25.00 from my friends and families, but what ever blessing you can donate to my DREAM ACTUALIZED will be greatly appreciated.
I am truly grateful to God for this opportunity!
