This is my crooked home. The caravan was gutted very old and cost $250. I fixed it up to make it liveable. The lean-to, is a garden gazebo with a canvas roof, one canvas wall and some salvaged roof iron on the sides. My floor is salvaged pine pallets. I live off grid.
I can't work, I'm too unwell. My assistance dog Nelly and I manage as best we can. I've lived like this for three years after losing my health, career, home and finances.
I have slowly managed to accumulate some building materials to put up a roof over the leaky caravan, and where the lean-to is. I would dearly love to have a weatherproof room with a proper floor before winter. But need help to get the perlins, joists, yellow tongue flooring and the things like the tek screws, bolts and brackets needed to do the job. It is going to take time, I know. But would like to at least have a roof up by May/June.
I'm not great at asking for help, it embarrasses me. But I know that without help I can't do this on my own. I'm also terrible at telling people how much I truly appreciate them and their support. Just know that my tiny house in middle of the bush is something I am eternally grateful for, it is my home, my refuge, my sanctuary. It is finally a place I have a connection to and gives me a sense of belonging.
Now I just wish it had a roof that doesn't leak or tear when the wind, rain and hail comes.
