My name is Andrew I'm 47 years old and am disabled from a work accident. A few years ago we had a new metal roof put on our house. The first couple years everything was fine with no issues, and then the problems started with the roof leaking. Called the contractor that come to find out subcontracted the work out was now out of business and so was the subcontractor. Found out the company's did a bunch of work after a storm went through in the nearby counties and then folded up shop and skipped town. Had another contractor look at the roof only to be told nothing was done right when the new roof was installed. No decking was put down, no gaskets around the exhaust pipes and no water barrier was put down. The new contractor did my neighbors roof and did an amazing job so thats why I asked them to look at it. According to him the roof will need to be removed and redone and the good news is most of the new metal roofing can be reused with no problems. I would rather not ask for help as I have always been the one that has stepped in to help others but now I have to think about my 7 year old boy and my wife and mother in law that live in this house. If it was only me I'd except the mistake I made hiring that contractor and patch the roof the best I could or live with it since I should of looked deeper into the contractors past but I'm worried about my son and health problems a leaking roof could cause in the long run for him from mold. Our homeowners insurance has said its not covered under insurance and the lawyer I spoke with agreed and gave me the advice to not pay a lawyer to try and force the insurance company or even try to find the contractor that messed it up because in the long run it would probably cost more in lawyer fees. I ask if a thousand people could find the charity to give $15 apiece. Thank you for looking, thank you for donating, thank you for helping this idiot father and husband.
