Continued Medical Expenses For EZRA

Donation protected
This is Ezra Blum! He and his wife, Olivia Blum, set out on a life changing adventure this year on August 14. When Ezra at age 36, started getting very ill, shortly after experiencing these new issues, they found out he not only had a brain tumor, but it was grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer. Oregon deemed him inoperable. Being miles from home and stranded in Portland Oregon they were beside themselves. After a GoFundMe to help them get home, pay outstanding expenses and bills... by the way a big thanks to all of our friends, families, and random kind hearts... they made it back and were immediately seen by Dr. Michael Sughrue at Stephenson Cancer Center where he underwent the following treatments: ⁃ Awake Craniotomy ⁃ Two Y shunt placement Surgeries ⁃ Chemotherapy and Radiation Olivia and Ezra had to live at hospitals for almost three months. Ezra was able to leave and go home last week. The transition has been a lot to take on for Olivia. Olivia went from having his mother every other night at the hospital, which allowed her time away to take care of herself and a full staff on hand, to being a full time at home caregiver. In that their insurance policy only allows for 30 cumulative days of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Nursing per calendar year, there were no other options but to discontinue Nursing in order to provide more therapy... leaving Olivia as his full time caretaker. Olivia, being an epileptic, is putting herself at risk being the only round the clock caregiver. That being said, the generous donations from the first GoFundMe drive are dwindling day by day. It is apparent they quickly need more help. NEEDS: -A part time caregiver to assist Olivia. - Ability to pay Occupational and Physical Therapists after the insurance covered 30 days of those services are exhausted - Daily transport for radiation, which will begin in 30 days is $50 each way, meaning $100 daily. - A platform walker, which insurance will not pay for either - Walker attachments - Wipes, disposable gloves, absorbent pads (3 are used daily), cancer fighting supplements including Boswelia, Curcumin, Ginger root (which must be ordered in bulk online), special circulation socks, medications ( 10 specialty medications), sanitation products, tape, gauze, no-rinse soap, anti-microbial pads, gait belt, and rotation wedges. It’s been a long road. They are tired. They are fighting. Everyone’s spirits are in the best place they can be. Ezra and Olivia continue to be each others strength and support. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. Please if you can donate anything, seriously ANYTHING, it would help give him another day with the best care we can provide him.

This Thanksgiving! He is now at Olivia’s mothers house where they are trying to give him the best of care outside of insurance restrictions. Please help us keep moving forward, and the Blums in your hearts this holiday season.
