Baby Nelson Fund

My daughter Andrea (left) was born with a rare genetic disorder that makes it hard for her and those like her to have children. The x-linked chromosome disorder, named Incontinentia Pigmenti, she carries has only shown mild symptoms. Not knowing the severity of her disorder she was lucky enough to have a miracle baby girl Brooklyn (pictured right) with the same mild symptoms she has. Since the birth of her daughter Brooklyn, Andrea and her husband (pictured middle) have found additional and growing knowledge in an IP support group of others around he world with her genetic disorder and have discovered how severe children can be born to those with mild symptoms and the disorder can result in early infant death, late term miscarriages, retinal detachment, impaired neurological and mental development, seizures, nervous system abnormalities and many other symptoms. Just recently, Andrea and Brooks found out they were pregnant with a baby boy, excited and scared they continued the pregnancy hopeful they would have an IP free baby. We all were praying the pregnancy was meant to be and this was their answered prayer to continue to grow their family. At 12 weeks Andrea went into the doctors to get a CVS completed to gain further confirmation on her baby’s genetic status. In performing the ultrasound prior to the procedure the doctor found fluid behind the neck - a bad indication that chromosome abnormalities were present. Hopeful, Andrea went through with the procedure but still scared of the fluid finding, she scheduled weekly ultrasounds on keep an eye on the issue. The following week the fluid was then found in the organs of the baby and the week after at 14 weeks the heartbeat was gone. Her and her husband so excited to have a boy - lost him and it was due to her unforgiving genetic disorder. The following day she had a D&C and is on the mend now almost two weeks later. Our hope with this fund will be to help her go through IVF with genetic testing in hopes to help them complete their longing for a baby boy and give Brooklyn the sibling she so dearly wants. Please help my daughter Andrea and her husband Brooks get through this process that seems so out of reach but is so necessary, any donation you are able to send will help tremendously. Thank you!

Unfortunately Andrea and Brooks have lost another baby at 14 weeks again at the end of August. This expensive treatment and testing is now their hope for a healthy baby, let’s help make that happen!
