Justice for Hannah

Hi everyone,

My name is Minna Choi, I'm Hannah Choi's little sister. As you may have heard on the news, my sister was taken from my family on the evening of March 5, 2022.  The police strongly suspect that her ex-boyfriend Joel Mosso Merino is responsible for her murder and have issued a warrant for his arrest.

While the Fairfax County Police Department investigation is ongoing, they believe her killer disposed of her body in a nearby park in Maryland.

Unfortunately, not only was her life taken from us through a senseless act of alleged domestic violence, but her remains also have yet to be recovered, denying my family the ability to send her off to be at peace. Moreover, Joel Mosso Merino, her suspected killer, is still on the run.

My family believes the quickest way to recover my sister's remains is to find her killer.

To help in this endeavor, our family will be putting up a reward for any credible information that directly leads to the arrest of Joel Mosso Merino. We are launching this fund to contribute to that reward so that we can find her as quickly as possible. We would deeply appreciate any help that can be offered at this time.

Sincerely,
Minna Choi

About My Sister

If there was one word to describe my sister, it would be Superwoman. She was brave, strong, ambitious, and independent. She paved her own path through life and had resilience and a capacity for hard work that was unmatched. She loved being around people, entertaining people, and always had colorful stories and words of wisdom to share.

But above all, my sister was an advocate and a protector. If I was ever in trouble, she'd be there, right by my side, facing any challenge head-on with me. And while I've known this about her since we were little, over these past few weeks, listening to all the stories about my sister shared by her friends and colleagues, it's clear that she was a Superwoman for many: defending, advocating for, and coming to the aid of anyone who faced injustice or needed help.

This is the embodiment of who she was in every facet of her life and is the legacy she leaves behind.

I will now forever be without my life coach and biggest cheerleader. We were supposed to be partners-in-crime, through thick and thin, forever. But now, she’s been taken away from me and everyone who loves her.

My only hope is that I can honor her legacy and bring her justice so that she may rest in peace.
