Help bury her 19yr old son
Hi- My name is Jessica Baez and my family is from the Dominican Republic. I recently took in my cousin who was granted an opportunity of a life time to get her residency in America. My cousin's name is Leonor Polanco-Baez and she left behind her husband Henry Jose, her twin boys Henry, Jordan and her daughter Genesis to try and make it in this country to not only provide them with a better life- but in hopes of one day bringing them as well. As lovely as that all sounds it has been very traumatic for her as her youngest son suffers from chronic asthma and constantly requires hospitalization; unfortunately the town they reside in doesn't have the machines needed so her husband travels 2 hours for the treatments and she pays for the treatment which are very expensive. Her husband works to cover rent, the household expenses and food. The clothes and shoes they have are hand-me down from our family in the states.
While she was in America one of her twin boys was shot in the leg, a simple surgery that could have been taken care of here, he bled to death in a clinic in DR and she has now lost her son as of 11/15/2013. Your donations will go to his funeral cost if we can collect enough will also go to bringing her family to America.
She works the overnight shift at McDonalds, as well as cleans medical sheets at a hospital cleaning service once a week; she has even done construction with some family members for extra money. This hasn't been enough to pay off the hospital bills and to send money to her family nor pay for her family to bring them to be with her in this country.
She has given up everything to grant an opportunity to her family as well as get her son the medical attention he needs. To start the process of bringing them to this country she needs $4,000.00.
I wish I could help her financially but I can't give her the 4000.00 I am asking if you have a son or daughter or husband to think about being in this situation and how hard this is to be away from your children and family. She cries herself to sleep night after night and I console her and it saddens me that I cannot help her. She barely has the money to catch a flight home to see them. She's missing out on their lives; she sleeps in my closet on an air mattress, all to give her family more than what she was able to give them in Dominican Republic. She deserves happiness, because she is an amazing woman and mother and she deserves to be with her family. Whatever you can do to help me help her get them to this country, anything would be appreciated.
The money would go towards the following: A Petition called I-485 Application to register permanent residence which is $985 (3,940 for entire family), additionally medical examination is needed called Biometrics its $85 per person. ($340 for entire family). Not to mention the purchase of 4 passports, and other things that goes into an immigration process.
