GO Nicaragua Trip 2018

Ok, so I made the bold, exciting, and scary move for signing up for my first GO trip - Compassion- Nicaragua on July 28- August 4, 2018, as apart of Crossroads Church. What this means is: I will be ONE of 75 people helping a small town in Nicaragua bring in clean water through filtering distribution, building relationships with the people of Nicaragua, and spending time with a child, and the environment they live in, who is sponsored through compassion. I have dragged my feet for the last few years on making this decision (ok more than a few years). I have rationalized all the excuses I have had, too, over the years. “You don’t have money for this, you have too much going on, don’t you want to do any actual vacation?, save up your PTO for that all inclusive trip.” I would go to service and they would brief over the GO trips and I would give one of my excuses and rationalize it as “one day.” Well, when does that ‘one day’ ever come? I reviewed my numerous excuses, still validating them all. But, then I thought about what my purpose in life was, what God has intended me to do. The answer washed over me and I could no longer validate any of my excuses. My purpose is “To help others.” That is truly what I feel what God has intended for my plan to be here on this earth. I currently work as a therapist for a non-profit agency in Middletown,Ohio. My time spent in this field has served towards my purpose. However, I believe the GO trip will take me greatly outside my comfort zone in the direction I need to be. Please help me along for my intended purpose. I would be grateful for any contribution, it means so much to me.
