Huck’s Heart Journey

Hey, everyone. A lot of you already know about what my sister and her family are going through but for those who don’t - my older sister had twins (boy and girl!) on October 2nd. It took them quite some time to get pregnant so these two are certainly a miracle. At about 16 weeks along, they found out that the baby boy, Huck, unfortunately has a pretty serious congenital heart defect. Since the day the babies made their debut, Huck has been in the Cardiac ICU at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Baby girl, Evie, is totally healthy, as well as my sister, Rachel, and her husband, Mitch. Huck’s journey, so far, has consisted of open heart surgery during week 2 of life and many ups and downs throughout. Rachel, Mitch, and baby Evie have been living out of suitcases in a hotel and AirBnB since day 1 and are doing all they can to support their little man. All four members of this incredible family are fighters, especially baby Huck. They have a very long journey ahead, including possibly 2+ more surgeries, and many more exhausting days at Seattle Children’s. I’m not asking for much but if someone happens to see this and feels like they want to help, that would simply be enough. Good vibes alone are all we need.
