Our King Dean Santoro

Dean Santoro has been apart of my life for over 15 years. I am best friends with his Daughter Jenna Santoro. Dean welcomed me with open arms into his home and has always treated me like his own. In December 2016 Dean was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer, we were told with treatment he was only to live a year. He started his treatments here in San Diego, his family searched for the best cancer treatments around and came across “The Cancers centers of America” in Phoenix Arizona. He traveled every two weeks for his monthly treatments, he fought as hard as he could to stay with us as long as he could. Jenna researched day and night looking for a cure for her dad, they tried everything. The Kemo treatments were only making him weaker, his cancer had spread everywhere. Two weeks before Dean passed away we were given another time frame, 2-3 weeks to live the Dr. told his family. We were told the best thing to do was to put him on hospice and simply make him as comfortable as possible, during this time the Santoro family took time off work to care for Dean. November 6th at 11:08pm while being surrounded by all his loved ones Dean was no longer in pain, Our King was no longer suffering, he fought till his very last breath and sadly lost his long and hard battle with cancer. The Santoro family was his full time care giver, constantly taking time off work to travel for his treatments. Camille Santoro his wife, was the main provider for Dean this past year. I decided to make this “gofundme” account to help Dean’s family, the Santoro’s have taken so much time off work that anything at this point would help them. Camille now bears a tremendous burden of medical and funeral costs, we would love to help ease that burden. This money you donate will be going to Dean’s services that will take Place on Tuesday November 21st, it will also be going to his wife to help his family get back on their feet after paying for all expenses. I want to in advance thank everyone for sharing/donating. Dean was a special man, he was a loving father, loyal husband, caring son and made an impact in everyone’s life. He was such a handy man, loved to build things for his family and would be the first one to volunteer his help. He would wrap his bandana around his head, bump rock music and work in the back yard for hours. Dean was also known for his amazing French toast! Thank you so much for being the father figure I needed, for loving and defending me like your own. Walking into your home will never feel the same, I promise to watch over your 3 girls & son and I promise to never let you be forgotten. You hold a special place in my heart forever papa Dean, rest easy and try to not give anyone a hard time up there. Love you to the moon and back!
