****UPDATE****
WE DID IT!!!! CHRIS IS GETTING AN INSULIN PUMP!!! His health is saved!!!!! I am going to leave the campaign going for those of you that still wanted to donate... anything additional will be going towards pump supplies, for it doesn’t just stop there. We are so overwhelmed by all the love. Every single one of you that has donated has helped save a life. I’m excited for the energy that he will now have to keep up with his daughter. I’m excited to see his lively glow once again. Anything additional going towards pump supplies is extremely appreciated. We are so moved!!! <3

Today I sit here typing out the words “please help us”. I am usually the last person to ask for help, but the first to help others if I can. We are officially out of options so I am reaching out to all my friends and family in hopes of getting some relief. My husband, Chris, is a Type 1 Diabetic and in desperate need of an insulin pump. For roughly 6 years now he has been without insurance living off of other people’s spare insulin.

Absolutely no way to live... wondering when your luck is going to run out and you’re left without life saving insulin. After being diabetic for 16 years, managing his diabetes with traditional methods has become difficult and only newer technologies can provide the level of care and peace of mind he needs. His body just can’t take much more. Without an elevated level of care, things will continue on a downwards trend according to his doctors.Too many nights have been spent watching Chris lay on the floor in a pool of depression wondering what turn his health is going to take next. Too many days and nights looking at his face being able to see the sickness and pain he is in. i shouldn’t have to hear the words “i don’t want to die” as often as I️ do. Chris has spent years trying to get back on insurance without any luck. The plans have just been outrageously unaffordable and don’t begin to cover what he needs most.

Over the years he has accumulated thousands of dollars in medical debt due to the fact he doesn’t have insurance. Countless trips to the doctor trying to get his blood sugar under control. If anyone knows Chris like i do, you know he is the most hard working, loving and enjoyable guy. He would do anything for anyone and goes out of his way for me all the time. He has a very kind soul. We have a baby due in March and it breaks my heart that he has to worry so much about his health while he wants to be around as long as possible to watch his daughter grow up. He is already showing some complications due to his diabetes and he is only 25 years old.

Out of all the research we have done and the options we have found, what seems to work out most in his favor is purchasing a refurbished insulin pump (cash price) through this company that provides a warranty, along with the supplies that need to be purchased with it. The pump itself is going to cost us roughly $1,500 and the supplies will add an additional $700 or so. He has sat down for hours and worked out all the numbers to a T. We have received our first donation and i would not have had the motivation to make this account if it weren’t for that extremely selfless act and words of encouragement from an old friend. An act so kind it put me in tears for the whole night. Now i am asking for help with the remaining costs. We just do not have the funds to get to the finish line. But I️ believe we can and it feels so very close.

We have really tried to sit down and budget our money trying to make room for insurance but it’s impossible. An extra $500 per month just isn’t doable (and still doesn’t get him the pump he needs). If we receive the funds to buy him this pump, the upkeep cost per month will be roughly $150 a month which is WAY more possible. So from the bottom of my heart i am asking anyone to please help my husband and father of my soon to be born daughter, Hanna, live a little longer. I️ can only imagine the wonders this pump will do for his body... the improvements would be huge. He’s a great guy and so deserving of a long healthy life. He just wasn’t dealt a fair hand and we are doing the best we can to make this crazy life work. We appreciate even the smallest of donations. It was very hard for me to ask for help today. Thank you from our little family.
