Melinda's fund

Melinda was diagnosed with HHT in 2011, and MS in May of 2013- after three years of traveling from her home in Alaska to Seattle for doctors visits. MRI tests were showing scarring as early as 2010 but the MS diagnosis was not given until 2013 when she went completely numb down one side of her body -- and new scars appeared. With the HHT - she has a pulmonary shunt into her heart. She is on expensive medications to help alleviate her symptoms - however still needs to travel to and from Seattle constantly for Dr visits. As a side note also, anyone who knows MS knows stress is a huge trigger-- and on Oct 5, 2013... Melinda's oldest son was murdered. More travel, more expenses, more stress...and the grieving process has been hard on her. And she has no more accrued sick or vacation time so lots of this is happening as leave without pay. We are trying to raise money to help offset some of the ongoing travel and medical expenses...especially with January coming and the reset of deductibles and co-pays.


On December 7 Melinda unexpectedly lost her husband William when he suffered a massive heart attack. She is devastated right now and does not know how she will be paying for funeral/memorial costs. Any amount that you can spare to help with the mounting expenses is greatly appreciated.
