As you all know, my father is an extraordinary man. For more than 10 years he has volunteered to photograph Irish Dancing competitions, festivals, parades and more. As many of you also know, he has offered his skills to photograph weddings, christenings, functions and other events.
This is my father's hobby and he has always taken great pleasure and pride in producing beautiful images for all to enjoy. There have been uncountable memories captured by his attentative and creative spirit, that would otherwise been missed.
If you have been lucky enough to meet Dad, you will know why I have created this support page. The time, effort, passion and dedication he has put into this for others is beyond comprehensible for those who have not first hand wittnessed. There have been years of State, National and International competitions where Dad has come home after staying back to help pack up, after a day of photographing at 2am, straight onto the computer editing and uploading images and in bed by 430am. He will always be the first back at the competition hall the next morning with a HUGE smile and willingness to help other's lives easier.
It doesn't sound like much to ask when you consider the flights, hotel rooms, petrol, food, coffees (for all you lovely, lucky mother's out there) and hours none of you see behind the scenes that all goes into providing these wonderful memories for you to hold on to. He has never once asked for money, he photographs everything free of charge and is the kindest, most generous person I know.
Dad will kill me for doing this, but he deserves it. So what I am asking, is for everyone to donate $5 to Dad, so he can take a well earned holiday with Mum :)
Mum deserves this holiday for donating her husband to the cause!!
