Double Amputee

WARREN GASTON has always been a compassionate friend to many. Unfortunately he is need of help now. In 2013 he was rushed to the hospital and lost his leg, due to diabetes complications. After a long stay in the hospital and then rehabilitation center he was taken in by a friend and their family to recover. He received a prosthetic leg and returned to his job at VONS as a grocery checker. He received accommodations, but continued to have health issues and had to address them. VONS contract could not keep him during this time and he lost his job and insurance. He was a employee for 25 years. WARREN has been a caretaker for his elderly grandfather for the last year as they both deal with their health. This past October, WARREN was rushed again to the hospital after being sick again. This time he lost his other leg. He was in a medically induced coma for 5 days in ICU. After a week in ICU and then two more weeks in the hospital. They also found a wall of kidney stones that he was operated on. He was transferred to another rehabilitation center for two weeks. He developed a sepsis infection and was taken back to the hospital, where he still remains. WARREN has a long recovery ahead of him. He still has another operation to undergo for his kidneys. He has to wait for his amputated leg to heal in order to be fitted with a second prosthetic leg. His living accommodations are unsure. He will need care to adjust to his current leg amputation, food and money to survive. WARREN tried unsuccessfully to apply for social security disability after his first leg amputation. He was in the process of appealing that decision and waiting for a court date. If you can help by donating, any amount would be greatly appreciated.
