Please look within your hearts

This is Debbie and Alan, they are both going through a very difficult time due to illness. In April this year, Debbie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is faced with the biggest fight of her life. She is currently receiving chemotherapy and has been unable to undergo radiation just yet due to having her gallbladder removed on the 09.11.17, Debbie is very scared as this will now cause further delays with her treatment and she is worried that she is losing precious time. Alan has been her main support person and is also a cancer patient, Alan was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015. Alan responded well to his treatment and had been in remission until May this year. Alan was told that his cancer returned and it is likely it has started to spread to his bones, as well as trying to survive he continues to support Debbie while in Perth. Alan is also receiving chemotherapy at Fiona Stanley while Debbie is at Sir Charles Gardiner. Debbie and Alan have been together for almost 18 years and have seven grandchildren who loves them dearly, due to being away from their home both are struggling to keep on top of their finances as Debbie was advised recently that she was not eligible for Centrelink and needed sufficient evidence therefore Alan cannot apply to be her carer. There are days when they struggle significantly when it comes to mounting bills and having to pay for a taxi to travel from hospitals back to the hostel where they are residing with taxi fees sitting at $70 one way. We as a family have rallied around the best we possibly could to help but unfortunately and in reality it is just not enough, words could not express the feelings of helplessness in having to create a fund me page in effort to support such beautiful people. Please look deep within your hearts to contribute any amount to help Debbie and Alan, your generosity is greatly appreciated and we will be forever grateful. We have learnt that life is too short and with this lesson we hope to make life a little easier and comfortable for Debbie and Alan. To help them through this difficult time because they don’t know when they will be able to go back to the comfort of their home.
