Gean's Stroke Recovery Fund

Donation protected

Yesterday, November 7th, dad had a stroke. He said to mom at about 3:30 a.m. that he thought he was having a stroke, and was at the hospital by 4:30 to be checked out. None of us, even the doctors thought that he was actually having a stroke since he has multiple sclerosis and it could have easily been an exacerbation from that. We learned after he had an MRI that he had indeed had a mini stroke in his brain stem. As of right now he is unable to feel his right side, see normally, swallow, eat food, and speak a lot. Since he is not able to swallow without aspirating, he has had to have a food tube put in. Even though he has been through a lot within the last 48ish hours he is a good sport! This just shows how determined this man is to get better! He has a LONG way to go, however, and there will be bills. Lots of bills. Between the ambulance ride, the 2-4 day stay in the Neuro trauma center and the remaining rehabilitation he will have to go through will definitely cost a pretty penny. Mom and dad have been empty nesters for a while now, but our family will do the best we can to help support them. We can't do it on our own though. If you're reading this and can help, please donate however much you can and know it will be greatly appreciated! If you can't donate, please pass this on! Please keep us, especially dad, in your prayers. Thank you.
