Xmas Gifts for Foster Kids

Donation protected
Hi everyone! As many of you know, my older sister Sarah is a juvenile dependency attorney in Sacramento county.  In court, she personally represents 175 children who grew up in sexually abusive and/or drug filled homes.

This holiday season, some of Sarah’s friends decided to use a portion of their family “secret santa” budget for charity, thus resulting in them buying gifts for 8 of Sarah’s children currently displaced in foster care.  After hearing this, I wanted to help give and decided to sponsor one of her foster kids.  A couple days have passed and it has been on my heart to go beyond what seems possible and not only sponsor one of her kids this holiday season, but give ALL of the remaining 167 children gifts as well.

The second weekend of December, Sarah is taking a trip down to central California to pick me up from Cal Poly for Christmas break (woohoo), and on our way back to the Bay Area, we will be delivering the gifts to her 8 already sponsored children.  When Sarah comes to pick me up, I want to surprise her with the funds to cover gifts for every single one of her kids in foster care.  In those 4 weeks I am home for winter break, I will be able to shop and help Sarah deliver the presents to the remaining 167 children.

Ideally the goal would be to raise $4,200, which would divide into roughly $25 per child.  This was such a daunting number when I first calculated, and I realize that this is A LOT of money to raise in just a matter of a weeks.  Regardless, I believe so strongly in people’s generosity and kind hearts.  No donation is too small…any and all are appreciated! Thank you so so much for contributing to my campaign for these kids.  My heart is overflowing with love for you all.

Love, Natalie Lambros
