Chelsey’s Lifesaving Lung Transplant

I’m a twenty six year old mother of a one year old. My lung functions currently at 19%. I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 3 months old, a terminal illness. In people with Cystic Fibrosis, a defective gene causes a thick, sticky buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage, and eventually, respiratory failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients. I’m currently going through all final testing steps for transplant and have been asked to start fundraising. My health is currently setting in the “end stage” and on constant IV antibiotics (which have stopped helping as much). Oxygen at night and during most days. Unable to be the mother that I want to be, most days I cannot leave bed from low energy and shortness of breath. I’m hospitalized at least 1-2 times a month. In all, just hoping to have those antibiotics get me through until I get my call for lungs. In short, “living” off of them. My only wish is to live and watch my daughter grow up and without this transplant, that’s not possible. I have to cover what my insurance doesn’t cover of my transplant and extra medicine costs. Also I have to live in an apartment/hotel within 10 minutes of my hospital in downtown Nashville, Tn for 3 months post transplant. As of right now, I’m living 50 minutes away in Franklin, Ky. So I have to cover the costs for that as well. I’m just asking for whatever anyone could do to help. I don’t ask for help often but with me not being able to work, raising my daughter, and my family being elderly & sick, we have to have outside help. I know God will take care of it so I will not worry but anything helps. Literally. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to give. Even if you’re able to not donate, please share.
