Nick Hoppe's Medical Fund for Cancer

Donation protected
The beginning of October this year, Nick and I went to Duluth for a trip to get away for a weekend. The few weeks before he was having some discomfort, that weekend it continued and he found a lump. We had him go to a general practice doctor who also seemed concerned and rushed him to get tests done and a STAT referral to a urologist. We got in the following week and with the doctor taking one look he said Nick was going to be needing his right testicle removed and that he was 95% sure it was testicular cancer.  On November 9th he had the surgery to have it removed and the Pathology tests that followed showed that it was an aggressive type of Non-seminoma Germ cell testicular cancer. One of the CT scans had shown some nodules in his lungs that the Oncologist wanted to check out.  The Next PET scan showed that the nodules were nothing but that he had found a spot on his liver and the doctor wanted to biopsy it.They were unable to biopsy it due to complications that could arise such as him having bleeding issues and them possibly puncturing a lung. Nick had started round 1 of 4 for his Chemotherapy on 12/11. Each round consists of 3 drugs, he does 5 days a week for the first week with 6 hour treatments and 2 weeks with 1 day 2 hour treatments.      With all of this happening so fast Nick hasn’t been able to work since his surgery. He didnt have disability so everything is coming out of his own pocket. He has his own business of driving a Semi truck cross-country and has bills that need to be payed right away.  He bought his truck 1 year ago and its been breaking down a lot,  its been hard for him to keep up with repairs and maintenance of it because the bills are so large and every time he gets close to paying one bill off more show up. Nick is putting his truck up for sale because he hasn't been able to work since october and with this financial burden it has added more stress on him and his recovery.         We have been so blessed by all of our family and friends. The support that we have recieved has been really helpful the last couple of months because it has been very emotional and stressful at times. If you are able to donate we would be so grateful. Anything would help with medical bills and his truck. Please read comments for Nicks updates and mine.
