Chris Gris Needs Our Love

This is a pretty simple story and I am counting on our amazing softball community here in CO to step up and help a fellow baller-in-need. Chris Grisley, our pitcher for the Denver Dirty Ducks was pitching in the Denver Citywide Sports mens D Fall league championship at Vanderbilt Park Thursday 11/2. Unfortunately he ended up taking a hot line drive square in his left eye. And not just any line drive, one of the hardest hit balls I have witnessed. As scary as it was, every person at the field that night was quick to help with ice, shirts for bandages, and more hands than you can count for compression. Thankfully he was conscious and aware of what was going on. Chris did end up taking an ambulance ride to Swedish Medical Center to assess  the damage. He shattered most the bones around his eye and needed immediate surgery to repair the damage. The doctors did say however they are uncertain if he will be able to keep his eyesight in his left eye at this point. We are hoping after a specialist visit this week we will know for sure. This request's purpose is to help Chris pay his maxed out insurance deductibles, which are no doubt already surpassed with ER surgery and a weekend stay at the hospital, as well as help him with lost wages he will sustain from not being able to work. The goal might be high but any support given will be appreciated more than you know, even if it is just your prayers and love. Help me help a fellow softballer out.
