Funding “Stand UP to Bullies”

Stand Up to Bullies is a web-based destination which protects children, tweens and teens from Cyberbullying and Online Abuse. As social media becomes more pervasive in our lives, it is crucial to educate, empower and support children and teens as they navigate their way through the online world. We intend to accomplish this arduous task by harnessing both technology and internet trends to provide programs and services to parents, potential targets and bullies.While the landscape is constantly changing, as will our programs, services and information available on our website. As of now, the following are the services we intend to focus on for launch of the organization:  • Deliver programs to increase the personal safety of children and teens, and reduce the risk of Cyberbullying and Online Abuse; further - through trust and credibility to be public - to become the knowledge leader and first point of contact on all issues surrounding Cyberbullying and Online Abuse of children and teens.
   • Prevent harm to children and teens through education and prevention programs for children, parents, schools and communities.

 • Maintain comprehensive data on the latest statistics and trends in Cyberbullying to develop the appropriate programs addressing the risks of Cyberbullying and Online Abuse.

 • Advocate on issues relating to Cyberbullying and Online Abuse of children and teens.

 • Coordinate National efforts in the areas of Cyberbullying and Online Abuse of children and teens through collaboration with other Non-Profits, Government, Industry, Law Enforcement, Educators, School Boards and directly to families.

 • Develop a relationship with the Toronto District School Board and arrange school assemblies and Q&A sessions with the Executive Director.We have also started to develop a mobile app which will be available as a free download from our site, as well as the Apple App Store & Google’s Play Store. We will be seeking corporate sponsorship to help fund our organization. With Cyberbullying being such a sensitive and ever-evolving issue within most communities, we plan on approaching Toronto’s major sports teams, TV Stations, Banks and Media companies to help cover our start-up and ongoing costs. Using a three tiered-sponsorship framework, potential sponsors can choose a tier and enjoy all of the advertising and promotions in which they have become involved. Presently, we are seeking an initial start-up investment of $15,000 so that we can register, insure, incorporate and purchase a patent for Stand Up to Bullies' mobile app; as well as find office space somewhere along the TTC line for easy access to our office in the GTA. In return, we will provide free sponsorship and promotional advertising on the website, digital signage and all print collateral issued to the public by Stand Up to Bullies for a mutually agreed-upon amount of time.
