My wife Trish Lewis was diagnosted with stage 4a Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma and Epithelial Myoepithelial Carcinoma a very rare salivery gland cancer with a very high Morbidity rate.
she is 1 of only 35 in Australia out of a population 23,300,000 people.
She has had a spillage of the cancer sack in the operation and residual activity in the original tumor site she has left side facial paralisis due to the cancer invading the facial nerves which were sacraficed on the 23/9/13.
she has had 7 teeth removed due to damage to stop bone invasion.
Because of this prognosis histilogically 24 % survive the radical chemo cisplatin 187mg/Hour dosage and radiation treatment.
She will then require extensive Physical therapy,and dentures in about 2 years
This is the ongoing prognosis for most ACC Patients.
I have therefore continued this fund so that ACC patients can recieve ongoing assistance from these funds on a personal basis
this is in the form of providing them with fuel vouchers, Coles Myer Vouchers and Chemist wharehouse vouchers to help them with the huge unexpected costs of post oprative and Radiation Treatment.
As this cancer is so rare we are the ( cancer without a ribbon )

We are in need of financial assistance due to the mounting medical costs,Re-abilitation, transport etc .
The cost of medication averages over $200 a week alone.
If patients was able to recieve Neutron treatment at Washinton state Medical it has a cost of $90,000 USD + Flights and accomidation.
This treatment has a 85% survivablity rate to 5 years.
