Raquel Boos and her boys

I have worked as an elementary school teacher with Raquel Boos for nearly 10 years now, and I am proud to call her a colleague and friend. Raquel is a very caring person who goes out of her way to leave a lasting positive impact on her students, friends and her own two sons "“ Sam (6) and Brayden (3). As a teacher, she doesn't make a lot of money. But she didn't choose to be a teacher for the money or prestige; she is a teacher because she cares about people and loves to help others in their time of need.

While the circumstances are unfortunate, this is our time to help Raquel in her time of need. Raquel and her two boys arrived home yesterday afternoon to start their weekend and discovered that her husband, and the father of Sam and Brayden, had tragically passed away while she was at work and the boys were at school.

Being a wife and mother myself, I can't even begin to imagine the road ahead that she and her kids face. But I hope she knows that we are here to help in any way possible. And while raising some money for her isn't going to make things all better, it will relieve some of the financial worries associated with taking some time off work, paying some bills now that she only has a single income to support her and her two kids, and just giving her a little financial breathing room to grieve the loss of her husband and make sure her kids will be okay after tragically losing their father.

I know that we, as teachers, don't make a lot of money and therefore oftentimes don't have the financial ability to donate large amounts of money to charitable causes. But we need to help Raquel and her kids get through this very tragic loss; so any amount you are able to contribute will help.
