Kayla is a young college student who dreams to help others and she brings a bright light in to the lives of everyone she encounters. She is a devoted volunteer and has from a very early age, had a passion for making a difference. Aside from being a full-time college student working two jobs, she is an ambassador for Love Your Melon, a brand dedicated to helping every child battling cancer in America, as well as supporting organizations who lead the fight againstd Pediatric cancer. She is also a Best Buddy for peers with Autism and works with Grant-a-Gift Autism Foundation. Now it is our turn to help Kayla!
After several years of enduring chronic and often times debilitating pain, and misdiagnosises.. Kayla was recently diagnosed with Neurofibroma, a tumor that has attached to the nerves in her rib and spinal cord.
This is where YOU come in and can help Kayla!
In the coming weeks Kayla will need intensive surgery requiring a Neurosurgeon to detach the tumor from the nerves in her vertebral column, as well as two Cardio Thoracic surgeons. Although she has student health insurance through her university, the impending medical costs will be astronomical. Kayla also works two jobs and will not be able to work for quite some time while she is healing. Kayla's mom is also taking a leave of absence from her job to help care for her while she is recovering.
