Joe Hetherington Update: 12/4/17
It's been one month now since Joe was injured and broke his neck that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Since arriving at Scripps Hospital, Joe has undergone surgery to replace his T-6 vertebrae with a new titanium one and had the T-5 plated. Joe has remained positive since and is fighting like a champ. He is still in the hospital (rehabilitation center) and has made tremendous strides to finally gain significant movement in his left leg and in his right toes. Joe’s doctor is overwhelmed with his progress and believes he is way ahead of schedule. Joe and his medical team are all optimistic that in time Joe will make a full recovery! He will remain in the hospital for a couple more weeks resuming his rehabilitation efforts. Joe and the entire Hetherington is family overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for Joe during this time and appreciate every thought, prayer, and financial gift that has been given so far. The fight continues on though and every penny will be needed to help him overcome this tragedy.
