Justin is cleared for transplant. Justin and his sister are moving forward with the “paired matching”. They both go into the pool to essentially swap with another family. This means more waiting and more people involved, risking a bigger chance of things falling through. Justin is currently cleared for transplant, so it could be less of a wait if he found another interested donor that had a better match. Below is the link on how you can see if you are a match or can also join the paired match list. Justin’s birthday is 7/11/1974 which you will need when filling out the form. Justin Gomez needs your help! You may have worked along side him at ARCO Arena over the 24 years he was there, you may have worked with him in the IBEW, he may have helped you with some jobs around your house, you may have spent countless nights playing poker with him. No matter how you know him, you are lucky to call him a friend.
What you may not know is that Justin is suffering from kidney failure, again! At the age of 19 Justin was diagnosed with renal failure in one of his kidneys. He had surgery and they removed a rib and the kidney that failed. Several years passed, he suffered a grand mal seizure and was rushed to the hospital and they discovered his other kidney was failing. In 2004 after a year of dialysis his brother donated his kidney and the transplant was a success!
Now 13 years later the kidney is failing again! Justin has undergone several procedures in the last week and is now back on dialysis. He is currently waiting for a new kidney. His medical bills are mounting quickly and can use assistance from anyone that can help. He has 3 pups at home that miss him and he will be unable to work for a significant time as he is continuing treatment and recovering. He has a long road ahead of him and any donation you can give will help and is truly appreciated.
