Good Vibes for Chaz

Donation protected
Chazwani (Chaz) Wright was the kindest of souls, and the sweetest of spirits. He passed on Monday evening - peacefully - in his sleep. Everyone who knew Chaz - even for a few minutes - fed off of his positive energy. He was quick with a laugh and a smile; and somehow managed to always see the good in people, no matter the adversity he faced. There's this simple memory - among so many memories - of Chaz that resonates as emblematic of his essence. He was working, and a customer had cursed at him -- in a terribly nasty way. He walked into our space at The Door, and we could tell he was still feeling upset about it. The stuff the customer said to him was just terrible -- I remember clenching my jaw at the thought of someone treating such a gentle person so badly. As Chaz saw my body tense up, he went out of his way to comfort me, despite his hardship. “Deena, don’t be upset, I just wanted to share with you my day. I’m sure they're dealing with something that you and I don’t know about, and it doesn’t help for me to feel angry."Chaz had an uncanny ability to see the bright side -- never spoke or thought of others badly. He treated everyone with kindness, and believed we were all inherently good. He did more for me and my coworkers than anyone could ever know. He made the work fun for all of us. Anywhere he went, he would immediately embrace those around him with his whole self. Whenever Chaz set his mind to anything, he succeeded and surpassed his goals. That’s who he was, he worked hard, played hard, and celebrated life the way it should be. Chaz passed as he lived - peacefully. He's survived by his mother Denise Richards his sister Shamielle Davis, and his grandmother Marion Sinclair who he loved deeply. Chaz's life warrants a joyous celebration, and your help can make that happen. Please take a moment and donate what you can to help Chaz and his friends, family, and community do just that.Thank you.
