Kira’s Journey

I’m trying to help my best friend/sister, Christy Buchanan and her husband raise funds for their daughter’s tough journey ahead!! Kira has been diagnosed with Ana-plastic large cell lymphoma located only in the meninges... which is the first case like this they have ever seen..?? The medical bills are extensive as they have needed to figure out what was happening. She has gone through SO many scary procedures such as blood tests, CT scans, multiple spinal taps, MRIs and MRAs as well as surgery on the spot on her brain... we finally found out what was causing the seizures after weeks of worry and an emotional roller coasters... Cancer...!! After weeks in the hospital trying to figure this out we now actually have been at the hospital for 2-3 weeks as she has been doing chemo since Monday the 16th and they need to watch her. Her white blood count has gone so low this week that she is at zero immunity and can not leave out of the unit. ...and no visitors... Her body is actually handling it pretty well and the doctors are pleased with her labs. After seeing how this first test period goes they will let us know what the rest of her treatment will look like. NO kid should EVER have to go through this!! It is heartbreaking!!! We truly appreciate everyone for your thoughts and prayers, also for reaching out to be of service to either bring us meals and gifts and we apologize for not being able to accept much as we are on strict rules from the doctors!! I feel in my heart that they are working to lift her spirits and keep her motivated to get home soon and healthy!!!
