“Cristian’s Fight”

Donation protected
On the night of August 22nd Cristian and Stefanie were home with their kids, a normal day overall. Enjoyed a day of activities with the kids. Had dinner as a family and settled down for the night. Cristian began his nightly workout routine but it would end differently that night. After finishing his final set cristian took one final look at Stefanie and collapsed on the floor. Having showed no signs or symptoms leading to this moment. Cristian was rushed to Toronto Western Hospital and shortly after arriving the doctor notified Stefanie and their family that Cristian had an brain aneurisym that ruptured along with a stroke and was placed in a coma from August 23rd to September 6th. (There is a brain aneurisym that ruptures every 18 minutes and 40% are fatal. It is silent.) On August 23rd Cristian began 1 of 4 surgeries/procedures. The first being a coiling surgery. His second on the 29th of August was a decompression of the brain a 7 hour high risk surgery followed by an angiogram. Cristian was not doing well. After putting Cristians life in the hands of the doctor who had done their best, We all prayed near and far, We spoke to Cristian gave him words of encouragement, hope and a hand to hold. Stefanie, family and friends didnt leave his side. He was never alone. 21 days of worry, some days were better than others. Everyone held their breath and made the most of the highs and prayed through the lows. It was a roller coaster of emotions. Just a few days before his 21 day mark, Cristian began showing signs of improvement! His speech slowly returned, memory intact, and a bigger appreciation for life than the one he already had. Due to the severity of the bleed of the aneurisym, and the severity of his stroke it caused Cristians left side to be paralyzed. On September 22nd, just a few days before Cristian turned 30 he was transferred to Toronto Rehabilitation Center where he would begin his road to recovery. Things in life happen unexpectedly, you cannot predict it, prepare for it. You're struck with tragedy and grief. I have witnessed a wife, children, parents, sisters, brothers, family and friends come together as one. Their love, faith and Cristian' s will to live, surpassed all the odds placed against him. A family that never lost hope because they knew he had and HAS a lot of fight left in him. I can't even begin to describe the strength and endurance his wife Stefanie specifically had through it all. The fears she masked for all of us but specifically for their children. The courage she had for us all, for Cristian. Putting his needs, her childrens needs and ours before her own. Remaining strong through it all. I have never admired 2 people so much. A whole family along with friends came together, worked together to bring him back. The true significance of family, if I've ever seen one. Now that the worst is behind them. They look forward to new days full of progress and success but most importantly happiness and health. Stefanie the kids along with their family are now preparing for Cristian to be cleared to go home for Christmas! Cristian has been fighting and pushing himself tirelessly to run through the doors and be home for Christmas. There is nothing they want more than to be home together as it should be. Unfortunately the place they call home where they've shared the best days and the worst day no longer meets the requirements Cristian needs to be successful, stress free and importantly INDEPENDENT. As I had said before There is no way to ever prepare yourself for something like this. Cristian was the sole provider in his household and Stefanie is a stay at home mom to their 4 children Mya, CJ, Jaycob and Gabriella. They have never lost hope that Cristian will work again but the road to recovery is long. Slow and steady wins the race! They are working together to live their happiest life. Cristian is striving everyday and progress is made with the help of his wife, kids, family and friends. They have lived without Cristians income for over 2 months and need help for a new place to call home and furniture to accommodate Cristians needs (new bed, bathroom accommodations, wheelchair, helmet etc...) A little goes a long way. I speak for myself and im sure others can relate when I say I spent money stupidly at times when instead it can be used to help a family who is in need of a hand. Like many other family's put in these unexpected circumstances they would be grateful and humbled by your donations. Your help won't go unnoticed, unappreciated or be in vein. Lets all work together and get Cristian home where he belongs. His kids need their daddy back. Thank you.
