<div>On December 1st, Janice was admitted to the hospital. After undergoing surgery, biopsies later that week confirmed it was stage 4 colon cancer. Despite the circumstances, Janice has kept her fiery wit and sense of humor that we all love. Next week she starts the battle with the first round of chemotherapy while she awaits the results of a PET scan to see the extent of the cancer. We will be posting updates to her blog on CaringBridge.

<div>Even with insurance, the costs of the upcoming battle are staggering. We are setting an initial goal to help with out-of-pocket medical expenses and loss of income while Janice and James miss work during treatments. Any funds in excess of those needed will, in turn, be donated to the Greeley Firefighters Benevolent Fund - a cause more important than ever to Janice and James.
