OG's Against Violence Farm PNW Chapter

 
Heya I am Ra, a brown farmer in the Pacific Northwest.  Being of service is my greatest tool.  For 20 years I lived off the grid and my passion has been living and teaching biodynamic permaculture and indigenous styles of gardening with individuals and communities up and down the West Coast. I believe learning to live sustainably is one of the most powerful tools that connects us with the Earth, deepens our intuition, and creates an empowered environment and sense of self.
 
I have worked with all colors, ages, and economic statuses throughout the years, teaching how to create gardens that will produce healthy, wholistic, nutrient dense food. Owning an educational farm is my biggest dream. So with that dream, I’ve expanded the chapter of my father and Uncles organization started in Syracuse NY called OG’s (Our Generation) Against Violence Check out their You Tube here .


As an alternative to a gym, I plan to use my skills in farming to:

1.     Educate

2.     Feed the community

3.     Provide young lives and families the opportunity to learn how to grow food so that they may continue that tradition in their communities. 

4.     Inspire families to grow food through my educational classes

5.     Teach families how to grow in even the smallest, unused outdoor spaces of their homes

6.     Help families feel empowered to help others in their own family and community

 
The farm will be a safe all-inclusive place where people who may not have the opportunity otherwise, can come and experience what farm life feels like. People should be around nature, digging their hands in the dirt, learning how to build soil, grounding, sprouting and planting seeds and most importantly take food home with them.
 
I will continue to be a consultant service to those by teaching and mentoring so the families can teach and take their livelihood into their own hands ultimately building a broader connection on the planet through the power of Earth Work. Amidst the current pandemic and racial divide and future of our nation, it has become even more important to me to teach others how to garden/farm and thrive through cultivating food security which is purposefully driven.
