Maria Lazcano/Lung Transplant

Hi everyone.As some of you may know, my mom was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis about two years ago. Fibrosis is a disease that causes severe scarring in the lungs. Unfortunately it's a disease that is not treatable and the one and only alternative is a lung transplant. My mom has three daughters and one son(me). She also has ten grandkids. We have talked about the procedure and we are all scared, but then she gathers her strength and motivation with what she looks forward to the most and that is to see all of her grandkids grow up. The struggle that my mom went through is one that me and my sisters are eternally grateful. My mom is the most hard working lady that I know. It amazes me how she managed to bring us over from Juarez, Mexico to El Paso, Texas in search for a better future along with an education. Maria is a lady that never picked up a cigarette and ever touched alcohol. She absolutely puts anyone before herself- even now with her condition. If it was up to her she would still be working right now.The lung transplant team of specialist laid a series of appointments and checkups to prepare her for the transplant. We have completed the long list of appointments and requisites in the last four months with the exception of one and that is to raise money for the expenses that come with the surgery. That is the reason why I'm here. Me and my family are asking for help in raising this money that is a pre requisite for the lung transplant.
