HELLO FRIENDS!
This is Aaron Bedard reaching out to you on behalf of the plaintiffs of the EQUITAS CASE. It is time once again for Mark Campbell and I to return to Ottawa as it’s been 6 months since our last visit. We are coming to Ottawa from Nov.8-12. I’m proud to announce that Scott Casey the president of Military minds and author of Ghostkeepers will be travelling with us. Scott is one of the most level heads in PTSD peer support and will be taking part in all our meetings during the trip.
We will be holding another veterans townhall with key government officials involved with the veteran file on the 9th. As well as meetings with The DND Ombudsman, president of the UVAE, VAC Critics, and leaders of all parties on the 10th. We are also attending the Ottawa 11.11 ceremony for the first time on behalf of the representatives of the class action ( that’s all of you! ).
It is vital that we maintain visible pressure in our effort to return the pension to all of our disabled veterans under the NVC. Bringing Scott with us we are also investing our time in maintaining accountability on the suicides under the NVC, which, still to this day are not being tracked and made public.
After 11.11 in Ottawa I will be doing a milk run from Halifax to home. My purpose will be to build a national board of directors and advisory for the EQUITAS SOCIETY. I will only be using this funding for airfare as I am blessed to have forged friendships across Canada that affords me a place to stay in every town coast to coast. My stops are, Halifax, Fredricton, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary then home. I dislike asking for help as any proud soldier naturally does, but this advocacy work costs money. I personally have spent thousands outside of flights and lodging in the past 5 years.
I am asking you all once again to please give us some support to go on this trip where we intend to cause a great deal of attention in the media that will result in strong pressure. We need this pressure in order to encourage our Prime Minister to present the best possible option for a pension in their pension announcement slated for this December 2017.
