Chelseas New Insulin Pump

Hello friends! I feel a bit funny about this, but Im just going to put it out there, as I though it couldnt hurt. As most of you know, I have been Type 1 Diabetic for nearly 20 years. Since age 11, I had been giving myself 3-4 insulin injections every day. That changed for me in 2007 when I got an INSULIN PUMP! Thankfully, my wonderful husband insisted that I be on a pump before starting a family. Im so thrilled because holy smokes these things are AWSOME! instead of 3-4 injections per day, I was only having to put in 1 infusion set every 3 days. Thats 120 needles a year instead of 1460!!! And, my health increased a great deal within the first 3 months. Now, 6 years later I am in need of a new pump. My insurance will cover a portion of the actual pump ($7000, well...$6995 to be precise), and supplies. I know...Insulin pumps are crazy expensive right? :( Then theres the month to month supplies and everything else one need to do to get the pump (pump training, travel to Doc appointments etc.) So, here it is. Im asking for help. Any funds I can raise will help cover the portion not covered by insurance and the taxes etc. I know there are many others out there that deserve donations more than I do, so I feel a bit silly asking :/ In BC, this would be covered under MSP if I was under the age of 19. I hope to see the provincial government to step up and cover it for people of all ages...but I think we will be waiting a long while for that to happen :( Anyways, thanks for reading, and here is a link for the pump that I am hoping to get.

Our 3.5 year old son Ellis has already informed me that if I get a new pump, it has to be the pink one. Im okay with that :)
