Jaime & Craig Fire Recovery

On Saturday May 26th while most of us were thinking about yard work and such, a terrifying event was unfolding. I will recount the story as best I can as it was told to me by Jaime.
“It was about 5am and I woke to the sound of what I thought was rain on my roof, but something seemed odd. Duke was standing on the bed, which he never does, I then turned and noticed a red glow from the bedroom window; I pulled back the curtains and saw the flames on the side of Chris’s house. The window cracked and I knew I had to get out, fast. I grabbed duke, a Gatorade and ran for the door.”
Jaime’s next thought was not about herself or her house, but her neighbour. She continues to tell how she pounded on Chris’s window, until he finally woke. “Get your mom and get out, your house in on fire!” were her only words.
Luckily, they all got out and no one was hurt.
However, Jaime and Craig’s house has basically been destroyed and they have lost everything. The picture you see; is the ceiling (or lack of) in the kitchen, this is actually the best looking part of the house.
That day and the following the support has been great. “What can we do to help?” “If you need anything let us know” being the recurring themes. Although they do have insurance, these things take time to resolve. Both have taken time off work to recover. So it is with this campaign, I am hopeful that we can raise some money to help them over the next couple of months.
