Please Help Us Help Darleen!

The picture above is my sister in law - Darleen (Dolly) Colgan. Such a great day this was - sail away from her very first cruise! DJ, her life long friend, treated her to the cruise so they could celebrate his birthday together. They always talked about doing it and he made it happen for her. Little did she know the last day of the cruise, on Sunday, in the Bahama port of Nassau would turn into the nightmare she is currently experiencing.
She and her friend DJ started out on scooters to explore the beautiful island of Nassau. They thought this would be an easier way for her to get around the island. They started off and within a few minutes her scooter locked up on her when she tried to brake. Over the handle bars she went. The result was a shattered left knee, her tibia was split down the center, her ankle was fractured... off to the Doctor's Hospital in Nassua they went. Needless to say the ship didn't hang around to wait for them. Even before treating Darleen the hospital required over $1500.
DJ stayed by her side until he had to return to the US on Monday.
After sending a few thousand more dollars they finally took her to surgery Monday afternoon. Plates, screws, rods, pins - you name it, they put it in! Also on Monday we connected through Facebook with folks that lived in Nassau via my cousin Kelly. Kelly had lived there for many years. Darleen wasn't alone - we had wonderful people looking out for her. Replacing clothes that had been cut off, toiletries, snacks - People connected for one purpose, one selfless reason...KINDNESS and a passion to help.
Now today the hospital demanded more money and are saying if we didn't pay they would have to move her to another hospital. None of the treatment they said was to happen today did either - UNTIL they got a few more thousand dollars.
So now we are all getting anxious and broke... We need to get Darleen home where her insurance will be accepted without all the requests for more money.
Colleen, Alan, Ken and I have ,in desperation, decided to try to fund raise for Darleen. I just spoke with Dar and she sounds good but desperately wants to come home! I asked her permission to do this and she felt embarrassed - but as we talked about it she realized that so many people love her and want to help her and all of us!
So please, if you feel compelled to help finacially - it would mean a great deal to us. This has just been a nightmare that doesn't seem to be getting better.
We still have to find a way to get her home!
