Syrian Children's Bible
Bibles-4-Children has been challenged with a matching gift proposal of $17,500. The total amount of $35,000 will provide 250,000 Bible storybooks to Syrian children and Syrian refugees.
Forced out of their homes and country and subjected to violence and death, the Syrian people are tremendously open to the Gospel. As families flee from the region, snipers target adults and parents, leaving children unattended to die from exposure. Of the 2 million Syrian refugees, over 1 million are children. This is our opportunity to make a significant impact for Christ in a desperate situation.
All 250,000 of these books will be distributed in both Syria and among Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Turkey. In September, 300,000 of these books were distributed in the region. They were intended for children, but the adults responded to them as well. The response was so overwhelming that they requested an additional 250,000.
Stories in the book are from the New Testament "” from the announcement of the birth of Jesus through the journeys of Paul and the end of Acts. However, it focuses mostly on the story of Jesus "” including his death burial and resurrection.
