Family Lost Home in Santa Rosa Fire

Hello, my name is Madi and I’m a thirteen year-old girl in 8th grade at Santa Rosa Middle School. We recently lost our home to the fire early Monday morning. We woke up not knowing what was happening, with thick smoke in the air, and very little time. We had to escape without being able to bring any of our belongings. We are a family of three. My parents,  Birgitte and Alberto, myself, and our small dog. Our entire neighborhood was destroyed except for five homes. We frantically left the house in our pajamas and with a few important papers, thinking we would be back the next day. We recently visited our home and were shocked with the outcome of this fire. We looked for important items that we were not able to grab, but there was nothing. We are so grateful for the support of others and hopefully we can rebuild our community and our lives, and be able to give all we can to others in the same situation. All the funds received will go to my parents, so we can pay for housing and donate back to others
