One Family at a Time

One of my dear friends Nancy O lives outside San Antonio, Texas.  When Harvey hit the Rockport area, she and a group of friends took trucks, and moved 15 families / and their RV's  to her land .  She continues to support their relocation efforts, as well as supporting those whose RV " HOMES" were destroyed.  They are now living in shelters.   She is helping many of the most vulnerable, and is committed to find permanent solutions " one family at a time."   She is currently helping Robert who is disabled, and now living in a shelter.  This is her story in her words.  Please join me in supporting her as she helps those most vulnerable.  In her words :

"Many folks were able to evacuate but many others couldn't' move their RV's because they didn't have anyone to help, tires were too old to make the trip out or couldn't' hold air. Those RV's were their little and only home. Some of those RV homes are destroyed beyond repair, unrecognizable or can't be found.
Funds from FEMA will pay for part of the value...  Some of those RV's weren't worth a plug nickel even before Harvey, but they were "Home".
At this time, it's hard to know how much it would cost to replace one little RV. An average of $5,000 for used inexpensive RV but something is better than nothing.
The homeless folks are in shelters because the infrastructure in Rockport is nonexistent and it may take several months to get a skeleton infrastructure.
Looters have caused many problems in Rockport and Arkansas Pass; of course, when you have "nothing", what is there left to loot.
The suffering is widespread...its overwhelming but if we can help one person , one family at a time, it will be a blessing. "
